Recent “true-crime” docu-series, films, and books have spurred much-needed conversation on wrongful convictions, and the factor that false confessions play in these outcomes. The case of the “Central Park 5,” now more appropriately referred to as the “Exonerated 5,” was depicted by the Netflix series When They See Us.
